Culture
Though mostly famous for its flashy lifestyle and celebrity sightings, Los Cabos is brimming with traditional Mexican culture and customs. Local life abounds every day if you look for it. Families and friends gather in downtown plazas, such as in San Jose del Cabo, to take a leisurely afternoon stroll and stop at La Tropical for its famous ice cream. Ranchers in Miraflores continue traditions as they line the roadside doing daily chores to make a living. Choyero is the term for native people of Los Cabos, while locals born in Cabo San Lucas are referred to as Cabeños, and those born in San Jose del Cabo are known as Cabo Josefinos. Next time you visit Los Cabos, keep an eye out for its organic lifeblood – the people and its culture.
